Mr. Presidential, born Oscar Hunt III was raised in Jackson’s infamous Presidential Hills neighborhood. Talent, drive, and hustle promise to make him the next big thing in hip hop. In many ways, you could say that rap is in Mr. Presidential’s DNA. His father was a local DJ who played all kinds of music in their house. “My dad was a DJ,” says Mr. Presidential. “[He] was Part of a DJ crew called “The Hi-Way Travelers Motorcycle Club” that played a lot of shows and parties back in the early 70s. In fact, we still have the records.” In addition to his father being a local DJ, his brother, T. Hunt is a founding member of the underground group known as The Presidential Players as well as the founder and CEO of Mercenary Records. T. Hunt is a major part of Jackson’s rap royalty and played a key role in piquing Mr. Presidential’s foray into the rap game. “I got started rapping when my brother had artists and was recording and making beats,” says Mr. Presidential. “I used to spend hours hanging around the studio watching my brother and his group record tracks back in the days.” Presidential means top of the line. That’s what I aim to be in this rap game -top of the line.
